Silence… We are leaving shortly – Bohemian Group – from 17/01/18

Silence… We are leaving shortly – Bohemian Group
Maria Kanigaridou’s play “Silence… In a little while we leave”, directed by Alexis Vidalakis is hosted at the Fabrica Technopark from January 17, 2018, every Wednesday at 21:00.

Two sisters who live in a world of their own between the real and the imaginary. One night is covered by words that are listened to carefully and dissolved by the silence in the air. What is said is lost at once and is reborn with new words. It all belongs to a living sense of the now, an unheard of real moment where the past manifests itself only to swallow itself. And the way out…?

A.P. in our house- Dir. Ioanna Bakalakou- from 01/02/18

A theatrical performance that attempts to overturn for many the wrong image of a religious ethicist writer and to highlight the social Papadiamantis, the one who stigmatizes injustice, the politicians, the traditional position of the woman who is “sold” through marriage. The humorist Papadiamantis, with irony and sarcasm to subject to very sharp criticism many situations of the time. The erotic Papadiamantis, with the poetic, sensual images of unbearable love. The poet Papadiamantis, with the magic of the words and phrases he uses. ” – (Baskozos Giannis N., To Vima, 03/01/2011)

A philologist, an architect, a costume designer and a musician live in present-day Athens, sharing a co-working space and playing a game once a week. They play the stories of Papadiamantis, speak the language of the author and follow the story until they come to live it, to taste it and to express it. The stories and questions posed by the great author, compose a playful and dark platform that brings the then to the here and now, making Papadiamantis an interesting, up-to-date, entertaining, invisible teammate.

A play that illuminates the humor, irony, sarcasm and sharp criticism that the author exerts on the social phenomena of the time (us), using a modern theatrical look. The text of the play is a composition of five short stories by A. Papadiamantis – “The Witches”, “The Voice of the Dragon”, “The Pharmacist”, “The Haunted Chamber”, “Loaded Bones” – the language of the author is kept intact, the The music and songs of the show are originals and adaptations of traditional themes, which are played live on stage.

Director’s Note

Re-reading Papadiamantis two years ago, I came across his stories that have to do with the relationship between man and mythology, the metaphysical, death and the effect that luck and social control have on our lives. I found out once again that he is a writer who speaks directly to the human soul, who raises fundamental issues that are crucial and eternal, and therefore modern. With a cinematic look and a playful mood, Papadiamantis puts the reader in the place of the companion in his stories. It is this feeling that he gave me that I walk next to his heroes and that I become a participant and teammate is what pushed me to find my meeting point with him and to do a theatrical act of these five of his short stories. A game in these stories, a revealing game of four people today, who wear their clothes, use the things of their home, the tools of their work and follow the story until they come to live it, to taste it and to express. I used a simple theatrical code and tried to stay in the essential action which serves and enlivens the text, working in opposition to the great poetic language of Papadiamantis.

Hidden misery- Tou Senpleman- from 03/02/18

Hidden misery- Tou Senpleman- from 03/02/18
The theatrical group Tou Senpleman returns after a great response from the audience with the short story by Andreas Karkavitsas “Hidden misery” for five more performances from February 3 to March 3, every Saturday at 19:00.

The play was first presented to the Athenian audience at the Fabrica Technopark in November after its participation in the 5th Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival as it won the audience award in November. It was also presented in Thessaloniki in January at STUDIO 29A.

The short story was written in 1885 and was first published on October 26 of the same year, in the magazine Evdomas entitled “Chrysanthos”.

A few words about the project:

”… .I want you to be a man! Well, I wanted it too, but how? Where will the silver wand of the witch be found that changes the female nature as she changes the treasures in the fairy tales on coals?… »

Before the outbreak of the Greek Revolution of 1821 there was a need for men for the liberation of the nation and the creation of an independent Greek state. The last hope of a large family to offer a member to the revolution dies with the birth of another female. The father decides to raise the girl as a boy. Chrysi becomes Chrysantos and makes an offer to the revolution. The battles take place in all areas of Elias “war in Lala in Patras in Santemeri in Chlimoutsi”.

The work focuses on the position of women and the impossibility of choice. The father, using this quality (of the creator of a human life), commits insults as he denies the sex of his child and chooses to change it himself. The daughter, as the weaker sex and helpless, submits to the power of the father and this has as a result that the satisfaction of her “creator” becomes an end in itself since she owes her her life. The girl was nurtured to endure the God of War through the constant bestiality and battles of 1821. But she has not formed resistance for another, equally powerful God, the God of Love. What happens when she appears? Is a girl capable of going against her nature to fulfill her father’s wishes?

The team of Fabrica Athens and Technochoros Fabrica, welcome Konstantina Lallou and the Course “Contemporary Dance Technique and Improvisation” for the period 2018-2019.

“I’m not interested in how people move – I’m interested in what makes them move”

Come to discover, to rejoice, to dance!

Research Theater – Fanis Katechos / Weekly Courses

Research Theater – Fanis Katechos / Weekly Courses
The team of Fabrica Athens and Technochoros Fabrica invite you to the 6th consecutive year of conducting the weekly courses “Theater of Research”.

Fanis Katechos, founding member of the theatrical group, inspirer and main presenter of the modern theatrical method “Theater of Research”, intensively shares for another year the findings of his personal theatrical research, through techniques he has developed and methods he follows , such as Grotowski, Eugenio Barbaba, Peter Brook, Suzuki and Suzan Batson.

The “Theater of Research” is a practice-based idea, which takes place in the here and now. Activating the body, exploring and expanding its boundaries, relaxing the mind, but also exploring the authentic sound landscapes it produces. The goal is the recognition and release of the visible and invisible masks of the human – actor, the extraction of the diamonds that are hidden in each one and the creation of personal (physical – spiritual) and group unity. It is also important to implant the seed of the actor’s autonomy, through the effort to create his personal method, while the overall training through the courses – meetings aims to shape people – artists “plasticine” who are “multi-tools” , “Transparent” who will let others see through them the hidden truth and “anxious” who will manage their roles as tightrope walkers.

The workshops for the artistic period 2018 – 2019 will take place on the following days and hours per week:
– Wednesday, 12:00 – 14:00
– Friday, 17:00 – 19:00

The sections are formed at the beginning of the artistic period. However, for those who are interested in participating in the courses and wish to know the method, they can contact the instructors of Fabrica Athens in the following email for more information and further consultation for their inclusion in the departments: researchtheater@gmail.com (Subject: Weekly Courses )

Colored Women – Bow Theater Group – 30/11 and 1,2,7,9 / 12/18
The Multi-active Art Group Fabrica Athens and the Handmade Theater of the Fabrica Technopark host the Theatrical Performance “Colored Women”.

The Bow Theater Group and the play “Colored Women”, winner of the 2nd prize at the 6th Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival, begins its performances at the handmade Fabrica Art Space

How much can the past crush us?
A poetic, deeply existential thriller of emotional conflicts.

Two women, two sisters, Elli and Anna, in their attempt to escape from this something, the dark “past”, somewhere in their paternal home – or not.
Two opposite worlds that find their meeting point in the memory and representation of their childhood. They provoke, crumple, despair, reminisce, get angry, fall in love, die and are reborn from their ashes. Two beings, two opposing forces – the conscious and the unconscious.
And a path, this one in the dark fields of fantasy and repressed desire. Man’s fear of the unknown, the different, the uncertain. A struggle for survival. The redemption that comes through the other. A window to freedom that opens together.
“It is a challenging work in terms of its subject and its handling, but it is also a poetic edifice almost geometric and musical. The use of language, the concoctions of the rhythm, the experienced time of the persons, the elliptical writing, the underground interconnections of the motifs, the associative connection, form a complete formation. ”

Costas Georgousopoulos, “The News”, 19-11-1984
