Going Postal – Poster Exhibition – 01/04 to 20/05/15

Fabrica Artspace hosts the Going Postal poster exhibition by Isko from April 1st to May 20th.

Going Postal is a poster exhibition, where Isko’s sketch is framed by postal interventions and captures on paper the inevitable flight tendencies and other surreal paradoxes

An art exhibition where huge hungry octopuses, bulls with suicidal tendencies, hens on the verge of a nervous breakdown, dogs with manic depression and other schizophrenic episodes are packed with museum stamps and war envelopes.

A fellow traveler will be Astrakhan, who puts words, knits puzzles and puts an interactive touch to the artistic adventure.

Personal strength associated with pain and weakness usually with happiness, this is how the paintings of Iraklis Fovakis that are hosted at the Fabricas Artspace (125 Megalou Alexandrou & Evrymedontos, Kerameikos) look like. With an unexpected exposure, they present and present everything good and bad that can be censored in our world but in the world of colors it sails freely.

Playing Roles – Photo exhibition – 20/9 to 2/10/2014

The photographer Dimitris Kechris will present his first solo exhibition entitled “Playing Roles” within the framework of the 2nd Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival that will take place at the Fabrica Artspace.

Playing Roles: “In an age of the collapse of collective visions and the promotion of the individual path as the only realistic choice, the presence is made even more felt by the anxious effort of individuals to find or construct themselves or, more precisely, identity. Faces wear masks, people play roles, relationships take on the character of a show and the world becomes a vast setting. The fancy, the unusual, the mysterious, the dark are some pieces of a mosaic, in which the “I” emphatically form thousands of personal narratives in the absence of a comprehensive narrative that could concern the “we”. The truth is mixed with the lie and the dreams try to exorcise the nightmares, unfortunately failing to overcome the fact that all this now and always takes place against the background of an eternal and intractable existential loneliness “.

Dimitris Kechris was born in Athens in 1986. He is a graduate of the Physics Department of the University of Athens. He has been involved in photography since 2006. He has participated in photography exhibitions at the M. Kakogiannis Foundation, the Greek Film Archive, the Gounaropoulos Museum, the History Museum of the University of Athens and the Blackduck Multiplarte. Within the Cultural Club of the University of Athens he has presented photography history seminars. He is a member of Unexposed Photographers. He writes articles about cinema in print and online magazines.
