The photographer Dimitris Kechris will present his first solo exhibition entitled “Playing Roles” within the framework of the 2nd Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival that will take place at the Fabrica Artspace.
Playing Roles: “In an age of the collapse of collective visions and the promotion of the individual path as the only realistic choice, the presence is made even more felt by the anxious effort of individuals to find or construct themselves or, more precisely, identity. Faces wear masks, people play roles, relationships take on the character of a show and the world becomes a vast setting. The fancy, the unusual, the mysterious, the dark are some pieces of a mosaic, in which the “I” emphatically form thousands of personal narratives in the absence of a comprehensive narrative that could concern the “we”. The truth is mixed with the lie and the dreams try to exorcise the nightmares, unfortunately failing to overcome the fact that all this now and always takes place against the background of an eternal and intractable existential loneliness “.
Dimitris Kechris was born in Athens in 1986. He is a graduate of the Physics Department of the University of Athens. He has been involved in photography since 2006. He has participated in photography exhibitions at the M.
