“The King is dying (Le Roi se meurt)” – Chimera Team – from 05/11/16

“The King is dying (Le Roi se meurt)” – Chimera Team – from 05/11/16
The Chimera group presents the play “The King dies (Le Roi se meurt)” by Eugenios Ionesco, directed by Elina Giannaki from November 5 to December 18, every Saturday and Sunday.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Berange is a king with a weakened power whose kingdom is collapsing. Queen Marie and Queen Marguerite (the king’s wives), as well as the doctor-astrologer-bacteriologist-executioner-cleaner, announce to Berange his imminent death. Written in the aftermath of World War II, it is a deeply political and philosophical work. In this work, Ionesco deals with the fear of death with an ironic look.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The work “The King dies” (Le Roi se meurt) by Eugene Ionesco was first presented in 1962 in Paris and is considered the most mature and most subversive work, according to Ionesco. In the work, dipoles are developed and confronted such as the past and the future, the old and the new, emotion and logic, the masculine and the feminine. While Ionesco is accustomed to constantly introducing new faces or characters in his works (for example, rhinos are constantly appearing in Rhinos), in “The King Dies” the kingdom and the characters gradually disappear. Ionesco said in an interview in 1966 about this work: “When I wrote ‘The King Dies’ everyone said ‘Leave the avant-garde works and it becomes a classic!’ There was never an issue between the classic and the avant-garde. “I wrote in a different style simply because I was on a different level of consciousness.” Ionesco had also said that he wrote this work while he was ill and feared that he would die. In fact, he was inspired by a childish thought about death, according to which one can simply refuse to get sick and thus live forever.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CHIMERA TEAM:

The group “Chimera” is a theatrical group that was created in the summer of 2015. Last winter, it presented to the theatrical audience of Athens the play “Who was the murderer of my brother” by Georgios Vizyinos. The group consists of Elina Giannaki (actress-director), Rebecca Giannaki (actress), Nikos Koufaki (actress) and Gerasimos Pavlou (actress).

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:

The work speaks of power in any form (emotional, logical, authoritarian). Each character in the play tries to impose and win at any cost. There are no psychographs of characters as much as ideas and positions that are opposed. The arrogant and benevolent King refuses to accept that he must abdicate his throne, but also his own life, although all signs point to this.

Driven by the political and social development of our country, in our show we tried to emphasize the need for a radical change of the political and social scene so far but also the need to create more solid, substantial and sincere feelings.

A new acting seminar starts on 10/1/17 with Eugenia Papageorgiou

The best way to understand a text and to make a kinesiological and emotional connection with it is to communicate it outside and within a specific context or situation. Somehow the meaning emerges and what is hidden between the words is illuminated.

With a main field of research in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, we follow a series of practical exercises (individually, in pairs and groups, from various acting techniques and methods) that are based on the targeted address of speech and kinesiological improvisation. These exercises enhance concentration and clear communication. They can be used by the actor when working on a role, activating the senses and limbs of the body to bring out aspects of a stage character. Furthermore, they help to strengthen the team spirit and cooperation. This is an exploration that does not seek definitive answers. After all, there are more than one ways to see the same object.

Addressed to anyone interested!

Extension of performances from 20/3/17 – “The Bear”, by Anton Chekhov

Extension of performances from 20/3/17 – “The Bear”, by Anton Chekhov
After the warm response of the audience and critics, “The Theatrical Team of Nikola Spanou” is pleased to announce the extension of the performances of the play “The Bear” by Anton Chekhov, which is presented at the Theater, “Art Space Fabrika”.

For 6 more performances from March 20 to April 4, Monday and Tuesday at 21.00 we travel in a dream of Chekhov. The show was successfully completed from January 2 to March 7 at the Fabrica Art Space.

Discreet satire and the comically tragic human condition are the fundamental materials in Chekhov’s works. “The Bear: A Joke in an Act”, or “The Bear” premiered in Moscow in 1888 and the reception was enthusiastic.

Chekhov himself treated it with innocence and self-sarcasm. He writes to a friend: “Just to kill my time, I wrote a little trivial vaudeville in French called ‘The Bear.’ Alas! If they realize in “Modern Times” that I write “vaudeville” they will expel me. What to do; I am designing something significant and it turns out tra-la-la! “Despite my attempts at seriousness, the result is zero; with me everything important is transformed into insignificant.”

During Chekhov’s lifetime, the play had many premieres with great success. After his death, “The Bear” crosses the Russian border. In 1911 it was played in London and in 1915 in New York. In 1935 the director and theatrical producer, Vsevolod Meyerhold staged the play “33 Fainting Episodes”. For the first time, “The Anniversary”, “The Bear” and “The Marriage Proposal” are played together on stage. From then until today, “The Bear” insists on reviving the theatrical stage, usually in combination with other Chekhov solos, knowing innumerable performances and adaptations.

“Suddenly” after “the summer” – Dream Drama Team – from 21/4/17

“Suddenly” after “the summer” – Dream Drama Team
From Friday, April 21 at 21:00 and for a certain number of performances, Technochoros Fabrica will host the performance “Suddenly” after “the summer”, by the Dream Drama team.

How did Saint Sebastian die? This question from Tennessee Williams’ poem for “Suddenly Last Summer” haunts two women: Sebastian’s mother, Violeta Venable, and Kathryn’s cousin.

Each has its own story to tell about (Sebastian) the hero of the play who will never appear on stage to find out the truth.
The obsessions of the two women for this person, his secrets, his life and his death, will bring them face to face.
The play is based on the work of Tennessee Williams Suddenly last summer. The two women after Sebastian’s death and after last summer will be found inmates in a psychiatric hospital. A catalyst there one (man) will place them in an (iron cage) and the two women will fight like wild beasts, they will confront themselves, they will give a fight for power and survival that will lead to redemption or in their permanent quagmire.
The performance through the research focuses both on the psychological context of the heroes, on the autobiographical elements of the author, on the quality of speech, the class struggle and the homophobic attitude of the time. Elements that concern today and the understanding of a great project.

Nature is responsible for the beauties and wonders that exist around us, she knows how to surprise us every time. And all we can do is stand in front of this greatness and create a truer relationship with it. So let us remain motionless for a minute, in the endless running of our daily lives and let us enjoy the absolute harmony of nature, let us let our senses feel, smells, images, sounds, textures. We also belong to this Nature, we are part of it. In nature that when he creates art, he does great work.

Christina Sarlami: “Photography is my way of expressing, feeling and experiencing the world around me. Through the lens I discover the beauty of things and people, I know a piece hidden inside them and I come a little closer. Photography is for me a passion, psychotherapy, travel, wonderful moments. ”

Having the need to express myself from a young age, I turned to photography. I started photographing personal and family moments, externalizing daily emotions until I started looking for something more inner and artistic.

Working on photography in recent years I have developed a strong interest in people and street photography by composing scenes that expect to converse with the viewer. So I choose to photograph people and situations that are part of everyday life and intertwine my own visual and aesthetic approach. Photography for me means that I live and dream as my emotional and mental world is connected to what I see and want to photograph…

Markos Kyprianos was born in 1963 and is a freelance photographer living and working in Corfu.

for a sequel! An only inch of instant of moment

Funny! The Present recedes in its Arrogance
Memories of the past, and full body, are collected

purple deaths…
Lack… Loss… Absence…
The sound of silence loud in Absence.
Word broken, made of Deprivation and
Existence. It binds you tightly with its vagueness
