[2012]: Mr and Mrs Bubble – The Show

[2012]: Mr and Mrs Bubble – The Show
Mr and Mrs Bubble – The Show, Show with soap bubbles

The History

Mr and Mrs Bubble invite you to the surreal world of the soap bubble. Two creatures from another era, living on the wandering planet Soapy Bubble. They travel and open their home to share with their guests the joy of living here and now, like a soap bubble.

The guests become spectators of a temporary, but true, landscape of transformation as a transparent world of soap bubbles unfolds in front of them, on which colorful stories are reflected and which constantly changes forms and shapes.

Viewers are drawn to the truth of the moment in the game and become part and co-creators of this elusive world made of love, water and soap.

The show

The performance Mr and Mrs Bubble – The Show is interactive. The audience is invited, not only to help the two heroes to share with the viewers their soap bubble-inventions, but also to enter the same inside a huge soap bubble (literally).

Soap bubbles play a leading role in performance. With handmade tools and unreal use of everyday objects, small, medium and huge soap bubbles are scattered that travel the spectators.

2. Call for Participation ǀ Limits – Theatrical Youth Exchange

  1. Call for Participation ǀ Limits – Theatrical Youth Exchange

The Multi-Active Art Group Fabrica Athens and the German organization Mostar Friedensprojekt invite young men and women from Greece and Germany to the 6th Theatrical Youth Exchange “In and Out”.

Since 2016, every autumn 20 young, rising artists meet in Athens and Berlin for two eight-day theatrical research and creation workshops. In less than 15 days, the participants from both countries, on the occasion and guided by the art of theater, meet each other, research and collaborate to create a performance inspired by the theme of the program. For 2021 the theme of the exchange is entitled “LIMIT S”.

    Issue

    “Limits” in Greek ‘’Oria ‘’

Limits- boundaries predetermined or set by ourselves, in ourselves, in the world, in others. Social, physical, geographical, spiritual boundaries that separate, but also they are on the edge of the known. Jumping over the limits, to the unknown, seems salvation, ideal and a new limit. We will explore all these manifestations of boundaries through theatrical practice. The purpose is to recognize our limits and non-limits and to move in and out of them, individually, but also collectively as a team.

    More specific

The theme of the theatrical exchange “LIMIT S” will be approached through the path of the Research Theater, drawn by the trainer, director and actor of Fabrica Athens, Fanis Katechos. The workshops of the seminar will be suggested by him, but also by the performer and trainer of the team, Giovanna Michaliadi Sarti. Walking in it, the participants will work among other things in the following:

    • Synthesis of inseparable bonds between the individuals of a set
    • Extension of the limits of physical and mental endurance
    • Expansion of physical consciousness (body, sound, music) and two-way concentration, redefining the relationship with the environment and its objects.
    • Management of energy in a variety of physical acts
    • Familiarity of the affinity of the breath with the sound produced by the body and the use of speech.
    • Structured research and creation of material towards the artistic / theatrical composition
    • Finding the personal role in a group, taking responsibilities and completing the corresponding actions
    • Practical and theoretical research and experimentation, leading to decision making and the creation of original projects – actions

The organizers of the program, aware of the current pandemic, will take into account all the health measures set by the competent bodies of Greece and Germany for the best and safest experience of the participants.

The program will take place September 4 – 11 in Athens and September 13 – 20 in Berlin. The presence of participants in both parts of the program is essential. Young people and adults up to 30 years old, with an interest in the performing arts, professionals or not, can apply.

“In and Out” is funded and is a cornerstone of the Hellenic-German Youth Foundation. The program covers the attendance of the fortnightly theatrical training, the travel expenses to and from the host country, as well as the accommodation, food and travel expenses in it. The cost of contribution of the participants in the program amounts to 40 euro.

HoopDance is aimed at those who are bored of dancing alone, those who like dancing and acrobatic elements in it and those who like to learn themselves by connecting with something outside of themselves. In addition, it is aimed at professional and amateur performers – artists of performing arts and spectacle (circus, theater, dance, etc.), who seek experimentation and the acquisition of new skills.

This course is open to all levels. Group and personal work is done with each participant individually, depending on his level and needs. Within an hour and a half hoopdancers practice various principles of HoopDance and learn trick with the wreath, which in the end we include in a choreography (hoopography).

During the lessons we will research the kinetic vocabulary of modern dance and we will work on both the physical capabilities (technique, dynamics, flow, balance and acrobatics) as well as the expansion of our dance memory. We will explore the possibilities of sequencing small and larger dance / kinetic combinations, and their functionality in the space. We will play with the alternations in the composition of these combinations (sequence, quality and speed).

The aim of the course is to find the mechanics of each movement and its possible alternations, to play the limits of a three-dimensional movement in space and to develop a choreographically complex result that will emerge through simpler kinetic materials.

The course is aimed at people of all levels in contemporary dance.

Yoga classes are a personal encounter with the breath, body and mind.

The space and what it includes.

Meeting with the inside, the outside and the space between them.

With the game and the knowledge that emerges from the satisfaction of our source need and curiosity.

With pause and silence.

A link to I Am That.

A step towards True Nature.

The lessons are based on classic Yoga practices, such as those of Yengar Yoga, Nada Yoga and Hatha Yoga. In this context we will move progressively from physical actions (asana) and breathing exercises (pranayama) to meditation (dhyana) and we will touch parts of the anatomy of the body for a more effective and understandable practice. Each lesson will be independent. There will be a connection between the courses and a continuation to.

The aim of these courses is to be a small retreat or otherwise a short break in everyday life. To create space and time for each person for personal training and relaxation of the body and the mind, so that the practitioner returns to the whole rejuvenated. In addition, in a more general context, the courses aim to:

Connect the trainee with the present moment.

Redefine our axis, center and boundaries.

Encourage a journey of self-knowledge.

To discover – create one’s own personal daily practice (sadhana), to achieve their goals.

Rapporteur: Natassa Arabatzi

The basic idea of the seminar is to move, dance and communicate, letting ourselves be influenced by the space itself and what it contains. Shape, volume, light, sounds, textures, animals, people. But also ourselves. With every movement, with every small or big change, the space changes with it and the way I exist and move in it.

Participants are invited to kinetically explore the urban landscape around the Fabrica Athens complex and to change / influence it with their main material their bodies and what they bring. The endless possibilities offered by the outdoor space itself. What “I” want to “say” or consciously add (interior space) to the body. And the others.

The aim of the seminar is to create together, from scratch and within 3 (three) days, a small outdoor performance with all the above materials. The lessons will be given exercises that will warm up and solve our body kinetically, dance and in contact (physical or not) with the other people who will participate.

The seminar is addressed to people with or without any experience in dance, but with a good relationship with their body and movement. It is essential to wear sports shoes and comfortable clothes, and to have with you wipes, antiseptic and a change of clothes for later.

Disconnect reconnect youth exchange based on Bicycle Theater

Disconnect reconnect youth exchange based on Bicycle Theater

The project disconnect reconnect  is an exchange of young people based on applied theater, during which 24 participants from Greece and Germany meet themselves and each other in the enchanting countryside of western Pomerania. Within 12 days, everyone finds their role in the ensemble and together they form their own theatrical group to create a public performance, which they tour by bicycle in 3 German cities.

A few words about the history of the project

This summer project was designed by the German organization Mostar Friedens project in collaboration with the multi-active art group Fabrica Athens, after their many years of experience in implementing the “Research Theater” in youth mobility programs. The Research Theater s a theatrical practice developed by Fabrica Athens through its collaboration with Mostar, which uses original techniques that draw on the methods of Jerzy Grotowski, Konstantin Stanislavski, Eugenio Barba, Giles Forman, Suzan Batson, Augusto Boal, Kit Johnson and Tadashi Suzuki. The application of Research Theater in youth exchange programs promotes:

  1. Intercultural dialogue (based on Tadashi Suzuki’s thinking that culture is the body)
  2. The authentic expression in a safe challenging environment.
  3. Peer-to-peerteaching between participants.
  4. Fundamental human values, such as equality, respect, teamwork, a sense of personal responsibility and the positive thought and behavior and personal development.

While his techniques are adapted, based on the respective group, to a liberating and transformative experience.

More specifically for the program

The youth exchange program will take place from 6 to 17 July 2021 in Liepnitzee island of German. There the participants will meet with each other through a common experience that will include

1 accommodation in local camping in tents for two people

2 collective kitchen (and collective lunch)

3 self – organization: taking on creative activities and responsibilities

4 creative activities

5 theatrical workshops

6 creating a theatrical group and

7 creating public performance

From there they will continue on a five day performance cycling tour of the cities-stops Rheinsberg Neustrelitz. Along with the performances, they will have the chance to explore and browse through the program. It is important to note that that the route of the cycling race will depend on the level of exhaustion of the participants, at which time they will be given various alternatives.

The “Disconnect – Reconnect” news exchange is aimed at young people:
Get rid of the suspensions and frustrations it caused last year due to the pandemic and its consequences (Disconnect) and
Through their contact with nature, their participation in creative activities based on the art of theater and the challenges posed by this experience to find themselves with their authentic selves and to create authentic bonds with the participants of the program and the environment. (Reconnect)

The focus of the program will be on the theme “Freedom of Love”, which draws inspiration from Kurt Tucholsky’s book “Rheinsberg: A Storybook for Lovers”. Although the book was written over the weekend at the beginning of the last century (1912) it was a revelation, as it touched on topics such as passion, love, romance and sexual oppression. New entrants will be invited to approach the topic through the activities of the program and their own position on the topic.

Practical information

The youth exchange is addressed to young people aged 18 to 30, from all over Greece. In total, the Greek delegation will consist of 13 people, trying to maintain gender equality.

Participation in the activities of the program is free, while at the same time it covers the costs of accommodation, food, travel expenses to and from Germany and transportation to the venues.
