We – Collective Culture Group

“We” are a group of restless people who want the constant between “us” communication, the exchange and the processing of ideas in order to organise cultural activities. An artistic move constantly expanding through a collective and self-organised mood of solidarity.

Defending the right to diversity and the individuality of each person, we demand a free speech environment, accessible from the entire spectrum of society.

Every subversive thought, every original idea, any practical solution, every capable hand, every strong voice, every sensitive spirit has a special place among us’. “

Panic Theater

Panic Theater

The art group of “Panic Theater” was created in 2010 aiming to the coexistence of artists from different areas of art who work collectively to create on common aesthetic lines, as a way to come up against with the crisis that we experience not only individually, but also as a country as well. The art we create is a scream… deals with the limits of body and speech, roots about our memories and plays with the senses to make our own path between the past and the future.

Seven deadly sins- Fabrica Athens Theater Group- from 21/11/2017

Seven: The magic number of integration and new beginning. Deadly: they wear down your flesh, they trap your soul, they throw you into the old puddle. Sins: An evil sense, an excessive passion that goes beyond the limits of our own or of others.
Seven deadly sins.
Are our actions really sinful or can our thoughts also be redemptive? Where will your lust lead you and where will you get with the rage? What does envy mean, how do you feel about your arrogance and how it laziness? How gluttonous can you be and where will you end up with your greed?
The body speaks. The body pulsates. The body reacts. And the voice invites you in a performance where there are no obligations or resistances!

The open, multicultural group of art Fabrica Athens consists of young artists who think of theater as a “fabrica”, as a factory of ideas and arts. Through the process of workshops that are focused on research theater, six members of the group were led to the co-creation of a performance, based from the beginning on our own needs and our personal ways of expression.

The seven deadly sins as an idea became the motivation for Fabrica Athens Theater Group to investigate and discover our thoughts about sins through body, speech and imagination. Our personal views were transformed into collective experiences and managed to blend different images into a show where everything is done by everyone.
Is it a sin …. ?

The show was presented in the 4th handmade & recycled theater festival at Technohoros Fabrica and is considered for us  a continuous work-in-progress project.

Why free contribution?

Theater is a right and a spiritual need. Everyone should be able to have access to it. The ticket is a compulsive process and often deprives this right from people. We believe in the free will of the audience to evaluate what they watched. To honor or discredit a show.

Free contribution. Because you are also free. You have an opinion, a view and an argument. Because we have democracy and even if we don’t feel it in its ideal form in our lives, we can have it in our art. In the theatre. As we believe it, we support it, we love it.

Presentation & Analysis of the Artistic Network of the Fabrica Athens Artspace

Presentation & Analysis of the Artistic Network of the Fabrica Athens Artspace

Students of the Postgraduate Program in Cultural Management of Panteion University 2016-2017 under the supervision of Associate Professor Giannis Skarpelos and Dr. Andrea Zachariadis, researched the action of the Fabrica Athens Artspace using modern technological tools for the analysis of social artistic networks, collecting and processing data during the period October 2016 – January 2017.

The theory of networks

Small World Effect

In the 1960s Stanley Milgram conducted an experiment to show how small our world is after all. He asked a number of people to forward a letter intended for a complete stranger. Many of the letters did not reach their destination, but ¼ of these letters reached their final recipient, even after passing an average of six people.

Social Network Analysis

The result of Social Network Analysis (SNA) utilizes the Theory of Networks and explores the social relationships that develop between individuals. These networks are represented by graphs (network diagrams) in which nodes are represented as circles and relationships / links are represented as lines. The particularly interesting visual effect is revealing for the intensity and quality of the artistic collaborations in conditions of inspiration and creation in the years of crisis with zero funding and awkward national policies for culture.

Research methodology for the Fabrica Athens Artspace

  • Collection of information from the internet (Fabrica Athens website, Facebook pages, publications of press releases in electronic magazines), printed material (posters, event programs) and publications in the press.

Free interview with Fanis Katechos, founding member of Fabrica Artspace.

  • Data mining of the digital social networking of Fabrica Athens from Facebook with the netvizz application.
  • Data cleaning using Open Office Calc and their introduction in the Gephi application for statistical analysis and visualization of the Network.
The quantitative data of the research are reflected in the interactive network:

The qualitative analysis of the data is described in the paper:

“Neutral mask, as a reason”, by Lysandros Spetsieris

Workshop “Neutral mask, as a reason” by Lysandros Spetsieris from 18/11 every Friday 18:00-20:00.

“The neutral mask is the mask of all masks. Everyone sees himself inside. Neutrality causes traffic economy that leads us to a pilot movement such as walking compared to all the others human movements.Obviously there is no gesture or state of neutrality that is a fixed point, still, for all things, but it is a direction. “We tend towards”, as if from a reaction, the personality of each one awakens, and we see the intensity of the difference appear. A specific organic choice, personal, becomes the time we are looking for, what belongs to everyone “

Jacques Lecoq

Through the basic principles of Jacques Lekok’s neutrality, Lysandros Spetsieris places the human body as the only tool, in order to arrive at an experiment that will each time redefine the limits and rules of stage narrative.

Participants must bring with them at least one white, neutral mask, uniform and a printed photograph.

The seminar will take place once a week, for the whole year.

[2016]: Suddenly Last Summer

The multiactive art group Fabrica Athens presents the poetic theatrical text “Suddenly Last Summer” directed by Fenia Proveleggiou.

One of the most important works of the famous American author Tennessee Williams. “This World” You will never see the beast but only the showcase of S ‘a road where the higher lurks to cover“This World“

You will never see the beast but only its window

On a street where the superior lurks to satisfy his hunger

And while you are fooling around with the lights – not the light, whether you are big or small

Scrambled, laughed, aged, you are enough

Another prey on his jaws

Here the different is sidelined by the like

Because the simple is complex and capable of entangling praise

The wrong notes in the right semitone

Let her make you her child at night

And I follow the cries that the mountaineer gives as a gift to the moon

He who weighs in the wind and has no secrets

The one who once hugged the human hand

But now he knows and goes into hiding, let the rifle not find him from the cartridge case

Alone and hungry when he feels forgotten

He lies in the invisible tired

And he remembers

When friends do not remember, the snake is imitated

And he does not sleep

When friends do not remember, the snake is imitated

And he does not sleep

And as if the day will come when he will find you with his eyes a raging storm, rain

It will unravel you wherever you have hidden

Wherever you climb, climb this human pyramid

And you will again become the voice that will take the beast out of the window with one hand, now kneeling in front of you

The lights go out and you see the light

And you feel brave, so does he

You and the wolf

And this world is in front of you

The double
