The seminar Body, conflict, truth: the stage as a political and poetic act with Teatro Nucleo, is part of the International Research Theater Laboratory – OSMOSIS, which will be held as part of the 13th HRTFest.<\/p>\n

It is a ten-day, international laboratory with trainers of theater and performing arts from all over the world (Greece, Italy, Germany, Poland, Denmark, USA), which will end in the creation of the show Osmosis – The Performance: an open artistic jam with the directon of Fabrica Athens, which will seal the closing ceremony of the Festival.<\/p>\n

Workshop Description:<\/p>\n

In this intensive workshop, Horacio Czertok, founder of Teatro Nucleo, assisted by actress and director Natasha Czertok and a historic voice of engagement and research theater, invites participants to explore the stage body as a field of tension between conflict and truth, between political urgency and poetic expression.<\/p>\n

Through a practice grounded in physical action, radical listening and relationship, the workshop proposes a living exploration of what it means to inhabit the stage as a space of truth: a place where the body does not act, but exposes itself, takes the risk of presence, becomes the bearer of questions, memory, disobedience.<\/p>\n

Conflict – inner, social, symbolic – is the starting point. Not as an obstacle, but as a creative engine, as matter to be traversed in order to transform the gesture into a poetic and political act. A collective, yet deeply individual practice, aimed at actors, performers, gesture researchers, and anyone who wants to investigate the transformative power of the body on stage and in society.<\/p>\n

Bio:<\/p>\n

Teatro Nucleo is a theater cooperative founded in 1974 in Buenos Aires by Cora Herrendorf and Horacio Czertok. In Ferrara since ’78 it has run the Teatro Julio Cortazar. An independent theater, a permanent laboratory, which for 50 years has been involved in research on the art of the actor, training of actors and directors, community theater, promotion of street theater as an autonomous art, theater projects in the social, theater in prison, professional training for social and health workers, theater pedagogy, conferences, internships, workshops. The company boasts participation in more than 150 festivals on 4 continents, with a predilection for theater in open spaces, re-inhabiting streets, squares, hamlets and bringing inhabitants, audiences and even passers-by back into the spaces of sociality. In 2024 on the occasion of its 50th birthday, Teatro Nucleo brought theater, circus and dance to the squares of Ferrara, organizing the Rabicano International Theater Festival for Open Spaces. Teatro Nucleo sees theater as an instrument of evolution for both spectator and actor, focusing its attention on the relationship created between them. It does not have a preferred audience; it identifies the human being as a possible interlocutor. From an imperative of elementary justice and the idea that it is in these very people that new life and new meaning can be found in art, Teatro Nucleo is driven to pay great attention to all those excluded from artistic enjoyment and production. Teatro Nucleo is a theater production, training, and research organization, recognized by the MiC’s National Fund for Live Performing Arts, the Emilia Romagna Region, and the City of Ferrara<\/p>\n
