The Multi functional Art Group Fabrica Athens presents it’s new show , which is dedicated to a hero of Greece, the legendary mathematician Konstantinos Karatheodoris. The team collaborates with the director Christos Karasavvidis, presenting a poetic look at the form and work of the great scientist. The last theorem-Constantin Caratheodory will start on March 11 and will be played for 16 performances at the Fabrica Theater (Meg.Alexandrou 125 &Evrymedontos, Kerameikos).
The performance is a tribute to KonstantinosKaratheodoris, whose work, although it greatly shaped mathematical science remained unrecognized in his homeland. Karatheodoris was considered one of the greatest scientists of his time, who helped develop Einstein’s Theory of relativity. He solved unsolved mathematical problems and founded the science of thermodynamics. His Greek colleagues rejected his Karatheodoris more than once.
It is a stage composition on the occasion of the thought and personality of the mathematician. The play doesn’t want to narrate the biography of Konstantinos Karatheodoris, but to unfold on the stage the labyrinthine mind of genius, which characterized the scientific thought of past century. In the face of horror and barbarity of wars that stigmatized humanity, mathematics for Karatheodoris look like poetry.

“We decided this year, on occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, to be inspired by from the thought and the work of one of the most important Greek scientists abroad,the mathematician Konstantinos Karatheodoris whose mathematical intellect influenced the whole scientific community of 20th century. From the beginning of the process we tried to focus to not create a biographical play but to immerse ourselves in the generally inductive mathematical thinking of a genius like Karatheodoris, perhaps not so much in it’s purely scientific nature, but ultimately in its philosophical view. To wonder, like himself, if love can conquer death and if our emotionally entropy can ultimately make us immortal. We delivered an avant-garde stage composition without knowing if we are right in proving a theorem, but we know for sure that we are not wrong in formulating a conjecture”
