Invitation to Participate in the Theatrical Youth Exchange Program “Roots and Wings”

Land Without Man- Fabrica Athens- Mostar Organisation

Where do I come from and where do I go?

How deep can I dive to the ground and how high can I fly?

I take a step back and take three steps forward. I go back to my roots, discover where my existence comes from and create a foothold in the here and now to spread wings in the endless sky.

The multiactive Art Group “Fabrica Athens” and the German Non-Profit Organization “Mostar Friedensprojekt” collaborate for the 3rd consecutive year and carry out the 4th in a row Youth Exchange Program between Greece and Germany entitled “Roots and Wings”, supported by the Greek-German Youth Foundation.

In the projects co-organized by the two organizations, the art of Theater is used as an educational and social tool, and more specifically the theatrical method “Theater of Research” used by Fabrica Athens and the presenter of the method Fanis Katechos.

In this year’s Youth Exchange theme “Roots and Wings”, participants are invited to a personal journey of self-knowledge and identification of their roots. They put themselves under the microscope and find the ingredients from which they come and are made, either biologically or spiritually. Ingredients that will mix them to create their own tree that will bloom. Along with the personal search of each one, the people who will make up the team will meet in a deep field, where they will support each other by submitting their stories, finding the components that unite them.

In this experience will be next to them the instructors of Fabrica Athens, Fanis Katechos and Giovanna Michaliadi Sarti, who will help the participants to transform the story into a theatrical act and human virtues. Through the “Theater of Research” and the use of elements from the theatrical methods of Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Barba, Peter Brook, Suzan Batson, but also from the art of the Circus and the practice of Yoga, an inseparable group spirit is created among young people. , discover their physical and spiritual boundaries, overcome obstacles and become eyewitnesses of an internal and group transformation.

The stories that the young artists will bring and the practices that they will practice, will be the material of the trainers, for the composition of the homonymous with the performance program.
