[2020] Love’s Labour’s Lost
The multiactive Art Group Fabrica Athens presents its new production “Love’s Labour’s Lost” directed by Lysandros Spetsieris, at Dekatessera Theater. Three years after the sold out performances of Easter Island at the Anglican Church of St. Paul, Lysandros Spetsieris, spokesman for the modern theatrical generation of iconoclastic theater, returns with W. Shakespeare’s subversive comedy Love’s Labour’s Lost.
A lover of the image and the mixing of the performing arts in each of his performances, he creates together with the fifteen-member troupe a dreamy environment that exudes eroticism and desire.
A puzzle comedy, with thick humor, misunderstandings and games of verbal competition unfolds before us in a place of unfulfilled love, in the new live translation of Christina Bambou – Pagoureli.
The rulers of Spanish Navarre decide to transform the kingdom into a center of spiritual and physical purification, in a new European academy of arts, letters and asceticism. They sterilize themselves and all Navarre nationals, staying away from any immune act and habit. But soon the princess of France and her three favors will arrive in the royal court. The entrance to the palace is forbidden for them and they are forced to spend the night for several nights in the forest.
A pagan game of transformations and childish egoism begins in January at the Dekatessera Theater.
