Open call for participation in the most \u201cHandmade and Recycled Theater Festival<\/a>\u201d of Athens.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n
The Multi-active Group of<\/span><\/span> Fabrica Athens once again, organize the <\/span><\/span>9<\/span><\/span>th Handmade & Recycled Theater Festival<\/a>. Our favorite festival in the historic neighborhood of Kerameikos, returns for the ninth consecutive year!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n

From October 14 to October 24, 2021, we take art in our hands!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Call for participations in the 9th HRTFest<\/em><\/p>\n

The idea<\/b><\/u>
\nWhy handmade and recycled?
\n<\/b><\/i>“What we did with effort, we gave it a title.” \u03a4he main concept to the Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival is the idea of handmade and recyclable. The name and character of the Festival emerged from the identity of the group. So it is not about choosing a title, but it is about choosing a need, a way of life that is reincarnated in an artistic vision. A festival with self-organized artists, creating together, each taking on different roles to achieve a result.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In this particular period we are going through, with the field of culture being affected and artists being called upon to find ways to continue creating, the idea of the Festival is inspired by a different way of operating.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our goal is to support artists who want to take art into their own hands, to highlight diy creations and to develop a network of artists who have a common way of thinking, perceiving and creating. So, we invite all of you to share your ideas with us and to co-organize a different Festival of Handmade & Recyclable Theater and Art!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A few words about the festival
\n<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/u>Participations<\/b><\/i>
\n<\/b><\/u>For seven years the festival has hosted over 40 forms of expression and artistic creation: prose, musical theater, performance, music performance, site specific performance, physical theater, street theater, children’s theater, improvisation, standup comedy, bar theater, forum theater , narration, theatrical analogy, modern dance, dance theater, jazz dance, concerts, dj sets, music screenings, feature films, short films, documentaries, painting, collage, photography, architectural design, installations, book presentation, book reading, projections video art, site specific art, video performance, video dance, skype performance, shadow theater, puppet show, circus, acrobatics, aerial Skills, juggler, clown, jewelry, mask, doll, costume, DIY Constructions, workshop, children’s creative work, seminars, lectures.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What is new;
\n<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span>– <\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span>Green Object \u2013 Contest for 15minutes shows
\n<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>Contest for theater groups! The green color, the green objects, the idea of “green” inspire us. Every team have 15 minutes to present a show or a performance that is inspired by the green color, the green objects, the idea of “green”. The winning team is going to receive a price.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>– Contest for new theatrical plays<\/b><\/span><\/span>
\nHRTFest invites writers, with a new theater play that haven’t been presented to the audience yet, to apply to the festival. The presentation in the festival should have the form of theatrical analogy <\/span><\/span><\/span>(maximum presentation time 30\u2019) and every writter can submit only one theatrical play. For the winning theatrical play, Fabrica Athens through the yearly Theater of Research Workshop will undertake its theatrical transfer.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s festival, like last year, the venues and the way of operation will be shaped – determined in accordance with the rules and protection measures proposed by the competent bodies.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
For this reason we invite all artists who want to participate to <\/b><\/span>have the be able to<\/b><\/span> adapt their actions, so that there is the possibility of their implementation<\/b><\/span> both indoors and outdoors.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
Submission of proposals – Call for participations 9th HRTFest
\n<\/b><\/u>The open call for participation is addressed to professional and amateur artists, but also students, who are active in art, education and research.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n
To participate in the festival, those interested should send an email with the subject “HRTFest Application Form<\/i>” to the email address: hrtfest@gmail.com<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
The email needs to include the following information in a pdf file:
\n– Description of the proposal
\n– Curriculum vitae of the group or the artist
\n– Contact info
\n– <\/b>Photo or video material (if applicable)<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
Proposals will be accepted until September 8, 2021. Applications that do not include the above information or that are overdue will be considered invalid.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    The spaces where the actions will take place are given free of charge to the artists. The venues will be announced soon.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    All submissions will be informed about their participation or not in the Festival until <\/span><\/span>September 10<\/span><\/span>, 202<\/span><\/span>1<\/span><\/span>.
