Galileo Galilei&#8217;s discoveries contradicted the Aristotelean cosmology \u2013 the earth being the centre of the universe with the sun and the planets circling around it \u2013 and caused something of a stir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But in this version by Donald Kitt, the meaning of Galilei&#8217;s discovery (that the earth and thus the human beings are not the centre of the universe) is transformed from this undeniable fact into a lively, humorous and thought-provoking theatre performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Kitt&#8217;s performance we are confronted with the modern human being, previously the Lord of the Universe, now suddenly finding himself small as a fly, alone in the space of infinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Text by Ulrik Skeel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few words about Donald Kitt:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donald Kitt was born in Canada in 1964, just a few days after the founding of Odin Teatret. After studying at the University of Winnipeg, he performed in numerous productions until 1989, when he co-founded Primus Theater in Canada, a company dedicated to original, interdisciplinary productions that toured throughout Canada, the U.S., and Europe. After the company ceased its activities in 1998, Donald Kitt moved to Italy, where he worked as a performer, teacher, and professor of clog dancing. He studied and performed Topeng dance in Bali (1996) under the guidance of Balinese master I Made Djimat.
