“The Speech of Tennessee Williams as a Religious Drama” with the subsequent screening of the play “The Angel in the Recess” – 15/09/2014
The Angel in the Hollow recounts Tennessee Williams’s experience as a tenant in a boarding house and the event that helped him accept his sexuality. A young writer rents an attic in a boarding house in the French Quarter of New Orleans. He hates his awful and cruel landlady as well as the miserable conditions under which he lives. His only consolation is a beautiful vision of an angel, who appears at night in his attic. One night, however, a more real guest arrives at his room.
